Routine: Building Your Base

Architecting a complexion that photographs beautifully and survives the elements requires more than just a good foundation. It requires strategic layering.

Phase 01: Grip & Slip

The foundation of your foundation. Depending on the base chemistry (water vs. silicone), your primer dictates longevity. We advocate for gripping primers on the perimeter of the face and blurring, silicone-based formulas exclusively pressed into the T-zone.

Pro Tip: Allow primers exactly 60 seconds to set before applying color products to prevent pilling.

Phase 02: Underpainting

A technique borrowed from classical portraiture. By placing deep contour and vibrant cream blush directly over the primer (and under a sheer foundation), the color appears to emanate from within the skin rather than sitting heavily on top of it.

Phase 03: Targeted Fixation

Baking is obsolete for daily wear. Modern editorial skin relies on targeted powdering. Using a micro-velour puff, press ultra-milled translucent powder strictly into the areas prone to creasing (under eyes, nasolabial folds) while leaving the high points of the cheeks glossy and bare.
